PESHAWAR: Japanese Ambassador Wada Mitsuhiro paid a courtesy visit to Governor Ghulam Ali of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday at the Governor’s House, engaging in discussions pertaining to bilateral cooperation and matters of mutual interest.
During their meeting, both leaders discussed various bilateral initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, encompassing areas such as education, agriculture, minerals, and other sectors. They also explored investment prospects within the province and the dignified repatriation of Afghan citizens residing in Pakistan.
The Governor emphasized the importance of enhanced Japanese collaboration in education and healthcare projects, particularly in the merged districts. Given the current circumstances, he stressed the crucial need to ensure access to quality education for the youth in these merged districts.
He expressed his belief that the Japanese government’s support in establishing schools and Basic Health Units (BHUs) in these areas would foster a stronger, people-centric bond between the two nations.
KP Governor Appreciates Japan’s JICA-Managed Projects
Ghulam Ali extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Japanese envoy and his government for their involvement in projects managed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In response, the Japanese Ambassador conveyed his gratitude to Governor Ghulam Ali for the warm hospitality extended during his inaugural visit to Peshawar. He also highlighted certain challenges faced by JICA-funded projects in the province.
The Governor assured that he would arrange a meeting with the relevant authorities to address and overcome the obstacles hindering the progress of these projects administered by JICA.
