KARACHI: Thousands of citizens gathered on Shahrah-e-Faisal on Sunday for the “Gaza Million March,” organized by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), to show solidarity with the Palestinians amidst the ongoing Israeli bombardment campaign in Gaza.
The march, led by Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, witnessed a huge turnout as people from across the city came together to express their support for the besieged people of Gaza.
JI leaders, including Mohammad Farooq and Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, delivered speeches condemning Israeli aggression and highlighting the plight of Palestinian civilians.
Farooq strongly criticized the continuous bombings in Gaza, accusing Israel of deliberately targeting innocent civilians, including women and children.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, head of Jamaat-e-Islami, praised the resilience of Hamas fighters, referring to them as “brave Mujahideen” standing firm in the face of Israeli assaults.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman also denounced global powers, particularly the United States, for their support of Israel. He urged Pakistanis to express their solidarity with Gaza through nationwide demonstrations, calling October 7 “Gaza Solidarity Day.”
The JI chief vowed that Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem) would be freed from occupation and declared that Israel’s defeat was imminent. “We stand with the people of Palestine and we will continue to support their cause until Al-Aqsa is liberated,” he said.
Khaled Qaddoumi, a Hamas spokesman who addressed the crowd at the event, praised the Mujahideen’s efforts, claiming they had inflicted significant damage on the Israeli military. He criticized the support that Israel receives from Western nations, including the United States, Britain, and France.
Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh, Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, reiterated his party’s long-standing support for Palestine, vowing to remain committed to the freedom of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
