GAZA CITY, Palestine: Israeli strikes in Gaza killed three people on Thursday, the Palestinian territory’s civil defence agency said.
It is the latest bloodshed to occur in the war-shattered territory despite a US-backed ceasefire which took effect in October 2025, with Israel continuing to target Palestinians it says are militants.
One man died after succumbing to his injuries following an Israeli drone strike on a house in Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City, according to the civil defence agency.
Another man was killed in an Israeli strike on his tent in the Al-Mawasi area east of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, the civil defence agency said.
A third person was killed and several others injured in an Israeli strike near an intersection in western Gaza City.
The Israeli military confirmed it had carried out strikes against Hamas fighters in those areas, without giving further details, according to AFP.
Israel’s army chief Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir on Tuesday vowed to push on with demilitarising Gaza and disarming Hamas “using all necessary means”, despite recent efforts by the United States to advance the ceasefire.

The Israeli military has said that it will keep pursuing alleged perpetrators of Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attack that sparked the war.
Israeli operations in Gaza have killed at least 1,303 people since the ceasefire came into effect, according to Gaza’s health ministry, whose figures are considered reliable by the United Nations.
Board of Peace criticises Israeli strikes
On Wednesday, a senior official on the Board of Peace has criticised Israel’s continuing air strikes on Gaza.
Nickolay Mladenov warned that a collapse of last October’s ceasefire would be “a point of no return” for the region.
He was speaking to the UN Security Council after Israel rejected the 15-point roadmap for Hamas’s disarmament, which was announced by the Board of Peace last month.

Hamas has agreed to give up its weapons in exchange for a phased Israeli troop withdrawal. But Israel has insisted that the group must fully disarm before any pull-out.
Mladenov said that process had not stalled but warned that risks remained, including the continued killing of Palestinian civilians in Israeli strikes.
He repeated that under the new roadmap, Israeli troop withdrawal from Gaza “follows verified decommissioning” of Hamas weapons handed over to the Palestinian technocratic committee that will govern Gaza under the Board of Peace’s supervision.
Israeli military campaign since October 2023 has killed more than 73,430 people, according to the territory’s health ministry.
