GAZA CITY, Palestine: Israeli military attacks killed at least 13 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, including five members of the same family, according to medical sources, as violence continued despite the US-brokered October 2025 ceasefire.
Local sources, cited by Wafa news agency, said a father, mother and their three children were killed on Saturday evening when an Israeli warplane struck their apartment in the Al-Nasr neighbourhood of western Gaza City.
The victims were identified as Adham Ibrahim Shaaban Nisman, 42, his wife Marwa Nayef Mohammad Nisman, 39, and their children Arwa, 8, Yahya, 17, and Ibrahim, 15.
One child survived because he was not at home when the missile struck the family’s apartment. Several other Palestinians inside and around the residential building were wounded.
Elsewhere in Gaza City, rescue workers recovered the bodies of two Palestinians from Kashko Street in the Zeitoun neighbourhood after overnight Israeli artillery shelling, Wafa news agency reported. Civil defence teams had earlier been unable to retrieve the bodies because of continued bombardment.
Medical sources also reported that an Israeli artillery strike in the same neighbourhood killed a woman and wounded several Palestinians, including her husband.
Another Israeli strike on an apartment in the Al-Madina building on Aydiya Street, west of Gaza City, injured several people, according to medical officials.
Three more Palestinians — Salem Tawfiq Abu Zur, Ahmad Nimr Abu Zur and Luay Nimr Al-Mubayyid — were killed when Israeli artillery shelled a gathering of civilians east of Dawla Junction in the Zeitoun area.
In Rafah, Ahmad Mohammad Ahmad Al-Bardawil was killed by Israeli gunfire in the Al-Furusiyya area, while Mohammad Owais later died from wounds sustained in an earlier Israeli attack near Al-Shabiya Junction.
Local sources also said an Israeli drone dropped two bombs near the Grand Mosque south of Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.
Early on Sunday, at least two Palestinians were killed and several others injured in further Israeli artillery and air strikes across Gaza, according to medical sources cited by Anadolu.
A medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital told Anadolu that the bodies of two Palestinians arrived at the hospital after an Israeli artillery strike targeted a gathering of civilians on Kashko Street in the Zeitoun neighbourhood.
The source said women and children were among those wounded when an Israeli helicopter struck an apartment building on Eidiya Street, west of Gaza City.
Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli gunboats opened fire along the Gaza City coastline, while artillery shelling and helicopter fire targeted eastern areas of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.
In southern Gaza, a medical source said a Palestinian man sustained moderate injuries after Israeli forces opened fire near the Hamad residential complex north of Khan Younis.
Witnesses also reported artillery shelling in the Sheikh Nasser area and near the Bani Suheila roundabout east of Khan Younis, although no casualties were immediately reported.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, hospitals received 19 bodies and 60 wounded Palestinians over the previous 48 hours.
The ministry said Israeli actions since the ceasefire came into effect on October 10, 2025, have killed 1,144 Palestinians and wounded 3,703 others. It added that 802 bodies had also been recovered from beneath the rubble during the same period.
The ministry said that since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023, at least 73,269 Palestinians had been killed and 173,811 wounded.
