JERUSALEM: The Israeli military said on Tuesday that a civilian was killed and five soldiers were wounded when rockets were fired from Lebanon on the Israeli side of the border.
“On the northern border, a civilian was killed today by an anti-tank missile that hit Adamit,” said army spokesman Daniel Hagari at a televised briefing. Adamit is a kibbutz community on the border with Lebanon.
In a statement today, the army said that “several anti-tank missile launches were identified from Lebanon”, adding that five soldiers were moderately wounded in the attack.
According to media reports, the civilian killed was a man visiting the village.
Meanwhile, Hagari said “we attacked dozens of Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon during the day”.
Israel and Hamas-ally Hezbollah have exchanged near-daily fire since the Palestinian group’s Oct. 7 attack on southern Israel sparked the Gaza war.

On Monday, Israel’s military said four Israeli soldiers were wounded by missiles fired from Lebanon.
According to media reports, at least 410 people, mostly militants, but also 79 civilians, have been killed in Lebanon during months of cross-border violence.
On the other hand, Israel says 14 of its soldiers and 10 civilians have been killed with tens of thousands of people displaced on both sides of the border.
