GAZA: Israeli strikes killed at least two Palestinians and wounded several others in two separate attacks in the Gaza Strip on Monday, according to health officials in the Palestinian territory.
Medics said a woman was killed and her husband and several others were wounded when an Israeli strike hit the rooftop of a building in Gaza City. Another strike killed a woman and wounded several others in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

Israeli actions in Gaza, West Bank ‘a stain on world’s conscience’
UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband has described the Israeli government’s actions in Gaza and the occupied West Bank as “a stain on the conscience of the world”, delivering one of the strongest criticisms of the Netanyahu government at Labour’s annual conference.
Miliband said on Monday the threats faced by Israel “cannot justify” its actions and received strong applause as he condemned the suffering of Palestinians.
“I want to say to the millions of people in this country, and indeed elsewhere, who have been moved and outraged by the plight of the Palestinian people, we hear you. You were right,” he said.

He said Labour had changed its approach under leader Andy Burnham, promising to challenge abuses in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
Miliband announced measures targeting economic links with illegal Israeli settlements, saying Britain would move beyond condemnation.
“We will ban the import of goods from illegal settlements. We will disrupt the supply lines for British finance, British construction, and British services for illegal settlements.”
More than 73,000 people killed in Gaza
Palestinian authorities say more than 73,000 people have been killed in Israel’s assault on Gaza, launched after Hamas-led fighters killed about 1,200 people in southern Israel in October 2023.
A US-brokered ceasefire agreed last year envisages the eventual reconstruction of Gaza, but little progress has been made as negotiators remain divided over Hamas disarmament and an Israeli troop withdrawal. Israeli airstrikes have continued.
Gaza health officials say at least 1,400 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have been killed since the ceasefire took effect, while the Israeli military says four Israeli soldiers have been killed.
