RAWALPINDI: At least six Pakistani civilians were martyred and 17 others sustained injuries, as the Afghan Border Forces resorted to unprovoked and indiscriminate shelling from across the border onto the Civilian population in Chaman, a bordering area of Pakistan’s Balochistan province, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a press release on Sunday evening.

According to The Inter-Services Public Relations, on 11 December 22, Afghan Border Forces opened unprovoked and indiscriminate fire of heavy weapons including artillery/ mortar onto the Civilian population in Chaman, Balochistan. The Afghan forces’ shelling caused the martyrdom of six civilians with another 17 individuals being injured, ISPR said.
ISPR says Pakistani border troops give befitting response
Pakistani border troops have given a befitting albeit measured response against the uncalled-for aggression but avoided targeting innocent civilians in the area, The Inter-Services Public Relations said in a press release.

Pakistan has also approached Afghan authorities in Kabul to highlight the severity of the situation and demanded strict action to obviate any such recurrence of the incident in the future.
