IRSA Releases Water from Indus River System Rim Stations

ISLAMABAD: The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) has announced the release of 165,600 cusecs of water from various rim stations, with an inflow of 244,600 cusecs. According to data released by IRSA, the water level in the River Indus at Tarbela Dam stands at 1441.48 feet, which is 43.48 feet above its dead level of 1,398 feet. The dam recorded an inflow of 40,500 cusecs and an outflow of 5,000 cusecs.

Similarly, at Mangla Dam on the River Jhelum, the water level is reported at 1134.60 feet, exceeding its dead level by 84.60 feet. The inflow into Mangla Dam was recorded at 63,500 cusecs, with an outflow of 20,000 cusecs.

IRSA also reported the release of water from various points:

Kalabagh: 100,500 cusecs

Taunsa: 56,000 cusecs

Guddu: 97,800 cusecs

Sukkur: 33,300 cusecs

Additionally, significant water releases were reported from other rivers:

River Kabul (Nowshera): 116,000 cusecs

River Chenab (Marala): 16,600 cusecs

These water releases are part of IRSA’s efforts to manage water resources effectively and ensure optimal distribution across the region. The authority continues to monitor water levels and flows closely to address water management challenges in the Indus River System.
