ISLAMABAD: Iran’s President Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi was given a guard of honour as he arrived at the PM House to hold a meeting with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with his high-powered delegation.
Earlier, President Raisi arrived in Islamabad in the morning for a three-day official trip, along with his spouse and a delegation comprising key ministers and businessmen.
Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the guest as he arrived at the venue of the formal welcome ceremony. On the occasion, the national anthems of both nations were played as the Iranian leader stood at the salute dias along with PM of Pakistan.



The smartly turned-out contingents of the armed forces of Pakistan presented a guard of honor to Iranian President which he reviewed.
Later, both the Iranian President and Pakistani PM Shehbaz introduced their respective delegations to each other before proceeding for delegation-level talks.
The Foreign Office said that they will have a wide-ranging agenda to further Pakistan-Iran relations and enhance cooperation in diverse sectors including connectivity, trade, agriculture, energy, and people-to-people contacts.
According to the Foreign Office, they will also discuss global and regional developments and bilateral cooperation to curb the common threat of terrorism. Iran and Pakistan enjoy strong bilateral relations anchored in history, religion and culture.
