ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam has praised Islamabad’s efforts to bring peace and stability in the region.

The Iranian envoy expressed these remarks during a meeting with Pakistan’s Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik in Islamabad on Thursday, state media reported.

The two sides also agreed to strengthen multifaceted cooperation in different sectors.

In his remarks, the Iranian Ambassador expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s role in promoting peace and stability in the region, stating that Iran is thankful to its Pakistani brothers. He appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for peace, calling them commendable.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik said Pakistan remains committed to promoting peace in the region.

It may be recalled that Ambassador Moghadam, in a post on X, lauded Pakistan’s leadership and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their consistent and behind-the-scenes role in facilitating international dialogue and diplomatic engagement.

Describing diplomats as “trusted harbingers of international harmony,” the envoy said they serve as the architects of peace, entrusted with navigating the intricate complexities of international relations through dialogue, empathy, and mutual understanding.

He emphasised that diplomacy is not merely about statements or formal exchanges, but a sustained and patient effort to build bridges between nations.

His remarks also signal broader recognition of Pakistan’s growing role as a facilitator in regional and extra-regional diplomacy, particularly in efforts to bridge communication between the United States and Iran.
