MULTAN: Chairman of the Kashmir Committee, Rana Qasim Noon, on Wednesday, condemned the ongoing human rights violations by Indian forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K).

Addressing a press conference in Multan, the Kashmir Committee Chairman highlighted Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people and reiterated the country’s commitment to their cause.

Rana Qasim Noon said that the people of Pakistan were extending consistent support to Kashmiri people at every level. “Pakistan stands by its Kashmiri brothers and sisters on moral, diplomatic, and all other fronts”, he maintained.

Rana Qasim Noon asserted that the people of Pakistan stand resolutely with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters, stating, “Our national agenda will remain incomplete until Kashmir becomes a part of Pakistan.”

He condemned the recent elections being held in IIOJ&K, labeling them as fraudulent and an affront to the will of the people. “The Indian military has made life unbearable for Kashmiris, and now leaderless elections are being imposed on them,” he remarked.

Highlighting the issue of illegal detentions, Rana Qasim Noon revealed that thousands of young men and women are currently suffering in unlawful jails. He described the situation as a longstanding violation of the United Nations Charter, drawing parallels between the struggles of the Kashmiri people and those in Gaza.

“The struggle of Kashmiris is similar to that of the people of Gaza,” he stated, reinforcing the notion of a broader fight for freedom.

The Kashmir Committee Chairman underscored the notion that the division of the subcontinent remains incomplete without resolving the Kashmir issue, referencing the late Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Gilani’s assertion, “We are Pakistanis, and Pakistan is ours.”

He criticized India for deploying over a million troops in Kashmir and conducting deceptive elections. “These elections are nothing but an eyewash,” he maintained.

Praising the recent speech by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the United Nations General Assembly, Rana Qasim Noon said that it effectively highlighted the ongoing human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.

He also condemned India’s controversial decision to divide Kashmir into two regions and resettle outsiders, including five million Hindus, in the occupied valley.

“The Kashmir cause will continue to be pursued vigorously, and we will see the fruits of our efforts,” he assured, emphasizing that no political party or government in Pakistan could ignore the Kashmir issue, which remains deeply ingrained in the nation’s collective consciousness.
