MIRPUR: Chaudhry Muneer Hussain, Chief of Pakistan People’s Party PPP (Shaheed Bhutto) AJK Chapter, has stressed that Kashmiris are observing India’s Independence Day as a black day to voice their concerns regarding India’s illegal occupation of their homeland.

In his statement on the occasion of India’s Independence Day, Chaudhry Muneer Hussain stated that this symbolic protest aims to draw global attention to the brutalities inflicted by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir and the denial of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination by the Indian government.

Black Day A Symbolic Protest Against Indian Occupation

Denouncing the actions taken by India on August 5, he added that Indian authorities are concurrently devising plans to alter the demographic makeup of the IIOJK, aiming to change the state’s Muslim-majority status.

Highlighting India’s distribution of counterfeit domiciles to over 4.5 million Hindus, thereby altering the region’s population dynamics, Chaudhry Muneer Hussain emphasized that this constitutes a grave violation of UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions. He expressed unwavering determination that Kashmiris will continue their struggle until their right to self-determination is realized.

Advocating for United Nations intervention to resolve the Kashmir dispute and implement relevant resolutions, Hussain underscored that the peace and prosperity of South Asia are intricately linked to the resolution of the Kashmir issue. He stressed that the time has come for the United Nations to fulfill its pivotal role and exert pressure on India to address the dispute in alignment with UNSC resolutions.
