ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s “undemocratic behavior” disrupted talks between the PTI and the government.
He told the media that the PTI has never faced the consequences of its conduct and that they misbehave like a child. He said that when they brought the no-confidence motion, the PTI responded in an undemocratic manner, labeling them traitors.
Bilawal added that neither he nor the PPP had the ability to mitigate the May 9 actions. He went on to say that the PTI will now have to face the law. Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said that there is a “misconception” about trying charged May 9 rioters under army laws, whom he considers terrorists.
He said that whenever people hear about military or army trials, they react viscerally. However, there is a widespread misperception that how Pakistan amended its constitution and established military courts will be repeated for May 9 terrorists.
He added that they are not proposing any amendments to the law or the Constitution. There is a Pakistan Army Act and an Official Secrets Act in the books. If a law is broken, the law must take its course, and there are consequences.
