LAHORE: Hasan Ali, the Karachi Kings fast bowler, has been fined 10 percent of his match fee for breaching Level 1 of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Code of Conduct during a Pakistan Super League match on Sunday.
The pacer accepted the charge and admitted the offence. He was found in violation of Article 2.5, which concerns “using language, actions or gestures that disparage or could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his or her dismissal during a match”.
The incident occurred on the final delivery of the 19th over during Lahore Qalandars’ innings, when Hasan dismissed Haseebullah Khan and celebrated with gestures deemed provocative.
Despite the disciplinary action, Karachi Kings went on to secure a four-wicket win over defending champions Lahore Qalandars in the sixth match of PSL 11 at the Gaddafi Stadium.
David Warner
Chasing a target of 129 on a tricky pitch, Karachi reached the total with three balls to spare. However, their innings began poorly, with captain David Warner and Salman Ali Agha dismissed early by Shaheen Shah Afridi, leaving them at 10/2.
Muhammad Waseem steadied the innings with a composed 38, building key partnerships with Saad Baig and Moeen Ali. However, both Waseem and Moeen fell in quick succession, putting Karachi under pressure at 88/5.
Khushdil Shah and Azam Khan then added a crucial 32 runs before a ball-tampering penalty against Lahore awarded Karachi five runs, easing the chase.
Abbas Afridi finished the match in style, hitting a boundary and a six in the final over.
Earlier, Lahore were restricted to 128/9 despite contributions from Abdullah Shafique, Haseebullah and Sikandar Raza.
