ISLAMABAD: Punjab Governor Engineer Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman on Sunday urged the commerce and industry chambers to come forward and exploit the explored market in Kyrgyzstan and adjacent countries.

Chairman of the first-ever Kyrgyzstan Trade House in Pakistan Mehar Kashif Younis held a meeting with the governor and discussed important matters. The governor congratulated him on assuming the new role.

He said that the Kyrgyzstan Trade House recently inaugurated by the Kyrgyz ambassador Ulanbek Totuiaev will help Pakistan for direct interaction with the business community of both countries to promote bilateral trade and utilize huge potential through regional connectivity which is the need of the hour in the current global scenario.

Baligh ur Rehman stresses the importance of business community visits

The governor stressed the importance of frequent visits of the business community to pave way for enhancing bilateral trade in different sectors.

He said that difficult logistics routes are one of the major obstacles in the development of trade and economic coordination between both countries and regions. He voiced hope that it would be overcome after the establishment of a railway link through Afghanistan.

Meher Kashif Younis, while talking to the governor, said that in the prevailing scenario, the concept of globalization is getting phased out and sharply shrinking to regional connectivity. Therefore, trade and economic cooperation with regional blocs especially rich central Asian countries should be focused.

He said that both countries are deeply interconnected culturally, religiously and historically.

The chairman added that great efforts would be made to increase volume of bilateral trade and the business communities on both sides would be fully facilitated to exploit available opportunities and explore untapped potential. — APP
