DUBAI: Global Village, a well-known center for culture and entertainment in Dubai, has announced a scholarship programme called the “Young Directors Award” in which two students would each get up to AED 1 million.
In collaboration with Bloom World Academy (BWA), Global Village is asking children between the ages of 5 and 14 to create brief videos with the title “My more wonderful world.” The little video must tell a tale about improving the planet and the participant’s role to make a positive future. Massive scholarships will be given to the two winners to cover the cost of their whole BWA education.
John Bell, the principal of BWA, spoke about the initiative and said that he hopes it would encourage children to come up with new, creative ideas. He also said that children are responsible for the future and that he is excited to see their imaginative short films. In terms of the competition, there are two age divisions: Juniors (5–10 years old) and Seniors (11-14 years old).
Important Details
The video shouldn’t exceed 4 minutes and must be created by the applicant. Participants can use DSLRs, phones, or any type of camera to record. Only United Arab Emirates (UAE) residents aged 5-14 years can participate.
