GILGIT: Gilgit-Baltistan has observed the fourth anniversary of India’s unlawful actions of revoking the special status of the Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir (IIOJK) as Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir.

The people of Gilgit-Baltistan hold anti-India rallies, protests, conferences, and seminars in all districts to display solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people in IIOJK. The focal point of these gatherings was the condemnation of India’s unilateral and illegal actions on August 5, 2019, that changed the special status of the IIOJK. Participants from diverse backgrounds participated in these events and demanded justice for the Kashmiri people.

Speakers passionately urged the United Nations and international bodies to transcend double standards and engage constructively in resolving the Kashmir conflict. Their plea resonated with the desire for freedom from the grip of the oppressive Indian military and the authoritarian Modi government, which has gripped the region.

Pakistan’s Commitment to Kashmir Cause

Resolute in their stance, the speakers highlighted that the people of Pakistan remain steadfast in their commitment to secure the inherent right of self-determination for the Kashmiri people.

Across the prominent highways and buildings of Gilgit, Skardu, Hunza, Nagar, Ghaezer, and Chaelas cities, banners adorned with messages of unwavering support for Kashmiris were unfurled. These powerful displays carried slogans championing Kashmiris’ cause and condemning India’s illegal actions.

In observance of Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir, the day echoed with a profound call for justice and equity, a beacon of hope for the oppressed Kashmiri population longing for their rightful freedom.
