KETA, Ghana: For centuries, Ghana’s coastline has borne the brunt of history. Today, it’s being consumed by nature and neglect. From Keta in the east to Cape Coast in the west, climate change, rising sea levels, and unchecked human activity are eating away at Ghana’s vast shoreline, including the centuries-old Fort Prinzenstein, a Danish slave fort and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. “In 20 years to come, if it has not been restored, the whole thing will collapse, and our history would be no more,” says, fort caretaker James Ocloo Akorli.
