Allies aim to assemble 2 battalions of Leopard tanks for Ukraine
Hebestreit further said that the goal was to quickly assemble two tank battalions comprising Leopard 2 tanks for Ukraine.
Ukraine has been vocally calling for the state-of-the-art Leopard tank amid pledges of providing military hardware made by various allies.
According to reports, the deal okayed by Chancellor Olaf Scholz would include Ukrainian forces training in Germany on how to use the tanks in Germany, as well as ammunition, logistics, and maintenance for the battle tanks.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin warned on Wednesday that if Western countries supplied Ukraine with heavy tanks they would be destroyed on the battlefield.
