GCC, MWL Strongly Condemn Peshawar Attack

RIYADH: The Muslim World League (MWL) and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a mosque in Peshawar, Pakistan.

According to Arab news, MWL Secretary General Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Isa stressed the MWL’s firm rejection of terrorism and the targeting of places of worship.

The Muslim World League offered its condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, the people and the government of Pakistan. It wished for the speedy recovery of the wounded people.

Local media reports said that at least 100 people were martyred and more than 200 wounded on Monday when a TTP suicide bomb blast ripped through a mosque in Peshawar.

Local media reported that proscribed TTP claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to Arab news, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf also condemned terrorist attack in Northwest Pakistan. The Secretary-General said that GCC expressed solidarity with the government of Pakistan.

He reiterated the council’s firm stance against terrorism in all its shapes, stressing the GCC’s condemnation of the attack, which “contradicts all human values and laws.”
