RIYADH: GCC Ministers for Foreign Affairs will hold a preparatory meeting on Sunday in Doha ahead of the 44th Gulf Cooperation Council Summit, Arab media reported on Saturday.

In a statement, GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi stated the bloc’s 158th ministerial meeting will be chaired by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman — whose country is also the incumbent president of the ministerial council — and will be attended by member nations’ Ministers of Foreign Affairs.

Albudaiwi added the meeting is a continuation of the preparations underway for the launch of the 44th session of the GCC Supreme Council, planned to be organized on Tuesday in Doha, Qatar in the presence of Gulf leaders.
