ISLAMABAD: The French Embassy in Pakistan, in collaboration with Campus France Pakistan and France Alumni Pakistan, is set to celebrate the first-ever ‘French Alumni Day’ in the country.

The event, which coincides with the world day of international graduates from French Higher Education, will take place in May 2023 and aims to bring together Pakistani alumni who have received their higher education and professional training in France.

According to a news release issued on Wednesday, the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, will host a special gathering at the Ministry in France on May 23 to celebrate alumni from all countries. Simultaneously, similar events will be organized worldwide, including Pakistan.

In Pakistan, the French Embassy, Campus France Pakistan, and France Alumni Pakistan will invite Pakistani alumni to connect with each other, as well as with embassy representatives and companies. The alumni gatherings are scheduled to be held in Karachi on May 19, Islamabad on May 20, and Lahore on May 28.

The events in each city will commence with a welcome speech delivered by key figures, including Nicolas Galey, the Ambassador of France to Pakistan; Alexis Chahtahtinsky, Consul General of France in Karachi; and Habib Anwar, Honorary Consul of France in Lahore.

French Alumni Network in Pakistan

During the celebrations, the Higher Education and Scientific Attaché of the French Embassy in Pakistan, along with the Campus France Pakistan officer, will introduce the French Alumni Network in Pakistan. Distinguished Pak-France alumni will also be invited to share their life journeys and success stories, inspiring others who have embarked on similar paths. The gatherings will provide ample opportunities for networking among alumni, French community representatives, and professionals from the corporate and academic sectors.

The ‘French Alumni Day’ serves as a platform for Pakistani graduates who have had the enriching experience of studying in France to reconnect, exchange knowledge, and foster meaningful connections within a supportive community. It aims to strengthen the bond between France and Pakistan through education and cultural exchange.
