Five Civil Servants Honored for Exemplary Reforms in Civil Service

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s five civil servants have been awarded with Integrity Icon Pakistan awards during a high-profile ceremony at Islamabad, a statement said on Thursday.

Senior Diplomats, civil servants, representatives of the civil society, media and youth from different universities attended the event to acknowledge and appreciate the services of five Integrity Icons.

Dr Sanya Hameed Pasha, Assistant Commissioner Sadar Zone Islamabad honored for services for the people of the capital city.

Other senior officials who received the Integrity Icons included Jameel Baloch, Deputy Commissioner, Pishin, Balochistan, Dr. Shaukat Hayat, Deputy Managing Director Merged Areas Education Foundation, Muddassir Riaz Malik, Director General, Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Punjab and Javed Sonharo Jiskani, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Larkana Range, Sindh.

The Integrity Icon is an international campaign to acknowledge the services of the most honest and hardworking government officials from all over the country. The Integrity Icon campaign has completed its eight years in Pakistan and has become a much-anticipated event in the country.

The Accountability Lab Pakistan (ALP) received hundreds of nominations for 2023 awards, and the winners were decided after a strict screening and review by a jury comprising of the most credible professionals from academia, civil service and civil society.

Campaign appreciates change makers within civil service

Mr. Ali Imran, Chairman Accountability Lab Pakistan (ALP) in his remarks said the campaign lauds the change makers within civil service and celebrates them as role models for others.

He added that it has always been the mission of Accountability Lab to identify and celebrate officers within the civil service who are honest, accessible to public, and innovative.

He said that Accountability Lab Pakistan encourages active citizens and public accountability.

Speaking on the occasion, the keynote speaker, Muhammad Rashid Mafzool Zaka, Director General Research, Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS) added that civil servants posted in small towns have shown integrity and introduced exemplary reforms in their departments.

He said that for Pakistani nation Quaid-e-Azam is the biggest Icon who always believed in integrity, accountability and inclusiveness.

Peter Emil Nielsen, Deputy Mission Head, Embassy of Denmark in Islamabad, speaking on the occasion said that Integrity Icon movement has set example for the civil servants.
