PARIS: France and Morocco football fans clashed with police personnel in Paris after Saturday’s quarter-finals between Morocco and Portugal and England and France in FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
More than 20,000 football fans took to the streets of Paris following the final whistle blew in France’s 2-1 win against England in the Gulf nation. Football fans were originally celebrating the victory of their teams; however, clashes between football fans and police soon turned violent, with police spraying tear gas into the crowd and arresting as many as 74 people.
Some video shared on social media appears to show the police beating many fans who were lying on the ground amid the chaos. Earlier, Morocco beat Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal and became the first African country to reach in FIFA World Cup semi-final.

The north African country’s supporters joyously celebrated their breakthrough moment on the global stage. Morocco will face France in the semi-final of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
Football fans said that it is huge for them and they couldn’t believe that the team had qualified for the semi-finals.
Similarly, France beat their European rival England to reach FIFA World Cup 2022 semi-final in Qatar.
