Female Saudi Lawyer Appointed at UN Secretary-General’s Office

JEDDAH: Female Saudi lawyer Jood Al-Harthi has been appointed to the position of Political Affairs Officer in the UN Secretary-General António Guterres’s office in Geneva.

Al-Harthi assumed the position after a successful practical and scientific career. Previously, she had worked in the Office of Peacebuilding and Political Affairs at the United Nations (UN).

Moreover, Al-Harthi also represented the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) at the Geneva International moot of OIC and participated in another OIC conference for youth in Europe.

Al-Harthi studied international law and political affairs at Swansea University in the United Kingdom (UK). At the same time, she obtained significant experience in various offices in several countries, such as her training in the UN office in Riyadh, the Federal Court in California, and several international law firms in Britain, the US, and the UAE.

It is noteworthy that Al-Harthi devoted her studies to serving humanitarian causes worldwide through her position as a participating lawyer at the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA) in New York.
