ISLAMABAD: A misleading social media post circulating online has falsely claimed that Pakistan is “landlocked” and is exploiting resources from regions such as Balochistan — assertions that are factually incorrect and misleading.
The provocative social media post linked to a Baloch separatist account has openly called for support from Israel, while spreading false claims about Pakistan’s geography and resource use.
The claim, shared in a post on X by the “spokesperson” and “advocate” of Baloch sub-nationalists reflect a broader pattern of coordinated disinformation targeting Pakistan.
More notably, the messaging goes beyond misinformation, explicitly urging countries, including Israel, to recognise separatist regions and intervene.

Pakistan possesses a strategically vital coastline along the Arabian Sea, with major ports in Karachi and Gwadar serving as key hubs for international trade and regional connectivity. These ports are central to economic development and global integration.
While discussions around resource distribution and provincial rights are a legitimate part of democratic discourse, distorted narratives that deliberately misrepresent facts only serve to mislead the public.
Experts have repeatedly highlighted that accounts linked to hostile networks and proscribed organisations often amplify false or exaggerated claims to undermine Pakistan’s institutions, fuel division, and advance terrorist groups’ agendas.
In reality, these narratives are part of a wider information warfare campaign designed to erode trust and create instability, rather than reflect ground realities.
What is BLA
Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) is a proscribed terrorist organization responsible for carrying out violent attacks against security forces, civilians, and infrastructure in the Balochistan province.
The BLA was officially banned by Pakistan in 2006. It is considered a major security threat operating from some neighboring regions.
