ISLAMABAD/QUETTA: At least eight people were wounded in the explosion near the railway track in the Paneer area of Balochistan’s Bolan district on Friday as Peshawar-bound Jaffar Express seemed to be the target.

Pakistan Railways spokesperson in Balochistan, Muhammad Kashif, said that a blast occurred when the Peshawar-bound Jaffar Express passed by the area. The Jaffar Express was coming from the Mach area.
He said that as a result of the blast, six bogies of the train derailed, causing injuries to at least eight people.
All wounded were shifted to a nearby hospital while an emergency was declared across all hospitals in the district.
Agha Samiullah, Deputy Commissioner Kach, also confirmed the incident. He also said it was a remote-control explosion that derailed multiple bogies of the train.
He said rescue teams had been dispatched to the spot.
Police have not yet issued a statement on the incident.
