Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the matter with the owner of Tesla during a meeting in New York. Currently, President Erdogan is in New York to attend the current session of the UN General Assembly.
Tesla has six factories and is also building a seventh in Mexico. Earlier in May, Musk said that Tesla would possibly pick another location for a new factory by the end of the current year. The company shares are up 123 % so far in 2023 and Tesla on Saturday announced it had produced its 5 millionth vehicles. The Turkish embassy in Washington and Tesla did not immediately react to the development.
