ISLAMABAD: An eight-member JIT (Joint Investigation Team) has been formed to investigate the suicide blast in Islamabad where two people, a police official, were martyred, and 8 others received injuries. A notification about the formation of a JIT was released here on Saturday.
According to detail, the police officials have formed an eight-member team that would initiate an investigation into the suicide blast that occurred at Sector I-10, Islamabad, on Friday.
The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) recommended that the Islamabad chief commissioner form the JIT which will be led by the SSP of the counter-terrorism department (CTD).
Other members of the JIT comprise three DSPs, SP of the Industrial Area, SDPO Sabzi Mandi, and two officials from the sensitive agencies.
FIR of the Blast
Meanwhile, the CTD police registered an FIR of the bomb blast yesterday, where the case was filed on the complaint of one of the injured constables of the FIR Legal Squad. The FIR was made part of the sections of murder, attempt to murder, and terrorism.
The registered FIR maintained that when police stopped a suspicious car coming towards the checkpoint, a man sitting in the rear seat exploded his suicide jacket killing police official Adil Hussain and another person reported as the driver.
