BEIJING, China: Eight people tragically died after suffocating in a refrigerated truck in central China’s Henan province, investigators reported. In a statement released on Sunday, a local investigative team revealed that the eight individuals had been “illegally” transported in the cold-chain vehicle to the town of Hongzhuangyang.
The grim discovery was made by the driver, who found the eight people suffocating and unconscious inside the truck. Despite efforts to save them, they were later declared dead. The driver and other “responsible persons” are now in police custody, facing serious charges for their involvement in this fatal incident.
