ISLAMABAD: Economic Coordination Committee of the cabinet is set to meet on Friday at 5:30 p.m. here in Islamabad. Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Ishaq Dar will chair the meeting which will discuss a 9-point agenda.
The meeting will discuss the proposal for an increase in the maximum retail prices (mrp)of paracetamol products.
It will also discuss the approval of fixation of maximum retail prices of 18 new drugs as recommended by the drug pricing committee in its meeting held on 29 December 2022.
It is expected that the ECC will approve an increase in the maximum retail prices of four drugs under the hardship category as recommended by DPC earlier.
Approval of the reduction in MRPs of 20 drugs is also expected in the meeting.
Other agenda items
Moreover, Kamyab Pakistan Program, provision of funds through a technical supplementary grant, wheat subsidy issue in Gilgit-Baltistan and declaration of commerciality, approval of field development plan, and development and production lease grant over Jugan Field (Latif Block) are also included in the agenda.
