ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee Wednesday approved technical, supplementary grants of 3 billion rupees to Cabinet Division for development expenditure under SDGs Achievement Program.
The committee also approved 844.389 million rupees in favor of Ministry of Housing and Works for the maintenance and repair of the Supreme Court building, judges’ houses, rest houses, and sub-offices in various cities.
Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Finance and Revenue, chaired the meeting of the ECC in which ministers and secretaries of the different ministries and divisions were present.
The meeting considered a Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division)’s summary and granted an extension in Adam X-one development and production lease for 5 years in order to increase domestic gas and oil production to reduce the energy import bill.
The committee considered another summary of the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), allowing 1 year of extended Well Testing (EWT) over Umair SE-1 Discovery Guddu to start production under EWT arrangements.
It was informed that an exploration license was granted over Guddu Block in 1999, operated by M/s OGDCL.
The meeting also considered a summary of Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and coordination and nodded to an increase in MRPs of one drug as per Drug Pricing Committee’s recommendation.
Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety gets Rs8.39b in ECC
The committee considered a summary of the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety on wheat seed subsidy and allowed the provision of 8.39 billion rupees. Moreover, the committee directed BISP to initiate cash disbursement through its partner bank as per eligibility criteria. It also directed to disburse the amount to each eligible person identified by the Sindh government.
