Deal Signed at Hajj Expo to Launch Smart Cards for Pilgrims

ISLAMABAD: The Nosok Foundation for Hajj and Umrah and the General Authority of Awqaf signed a cooperation agreement to improve pilgrims’ experiences through electronic solutions, during the ritual and Umrah Services Conference and Exhibition in Jeddah.

The agreement describes the introduction of smart cards that link an electronic app to personal, residential, and health data about users. The agreement was signed by Imad bin Saleh Al-Kharashi, governor of the General Authority of Awqaf, and Dr. Abdulfattah bin Sulaiman Mashat, Saudi Arabia’s deputy minister for hajj and Umrah.

Mashat emphasized the importance of the agreement in enhancing pilgrims’ spiritual journeys through the utilization of technological advancements and the automation of services in keeping with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision-2030 reform plan.
