Daesh Claims Responsibility for Pakistan’s Deadly Suicide Attack

Islamabad: Terrorist group Daesh has claimed responsibility for the recent suicide attack in Pakistan’s North Western Bajaur district, killing at least 54 people at a religious, political party gathering.

The Afghan chapter of Daesh claimed responsibility in a statement on its Amaq website.

The death toll from a suicide attack at a Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) gathering in Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has risen to 54.

Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) additional inspector general Shaukat Abbas said that 54 people were killed in the suicide explosion in Bajaur. Approximately ten to twelve kilograms of explosives were used in the blast.

Bajaur is one of seven districts bordering Afghanistan and had remained a major area in the war against terror.

Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Azam Khan said that the security forces had made countless sacrifices to establish law and order in the area, adding that these efforts would not go in waste.
