ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reiterated that violent and intolerant acts like Jaranwala incidents are unacceptable to the ethos of Pakistan’s society, the Pakistan Foreign Office said on Sunday.
Responding to a question regarding the unfortunate incident in Jaranwala, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said the incident is a sad and reprehensible which has hurt the sentiments of Christian community in Pakistan. She maintained that the wheels of justice have been set in motion.

She added that authorities in Pakistan will not rest until those responsible for these awful acts are arrested and brought to justice.
She said that the incident has also reignited an inter-faith talks of mutual respect, and tolerance in Pakistan.
Earlier in the day, Punjab caretaker chief minister Mohsin Naqvi announced Rs2 million each for the affected families in Jaranwala incident. He visited Isa Nagar area of Jaranwala to express solidarity with the Christian community, where he also inspected the affected area.

Similarly, senior judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa also visited Faisalabad district’s Jaranwala tehsil to inquire about the well-being of the local Christian community after Wednesday’s incident.
The Punjab police have so far arrested 145 alleged miscreants, including two prime suspects. The police have booked over 1400 miscreants after the incident.
