ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong has met with Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and discussed ways to explore opportunities for strengthening cooperation in business, technology and investment sectors.
Nawaz Sharif expressed pride in Pakistan’s deep historical ties with China, calling it a trusted ally.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted various welfare projects in Punjab during the meeting and welcomed Chinese cooperation in infrastructure and technology.
She proposed the establishment of Chinese Economic Zones to attract investment and offered Chinese companies special incentives.
The ambassador lauded Punjab’s agricultural initiatives and announced a plan to expand hybrid rapeseed farming to 1 million acres with the assistance of China.
