BEIJING: The China National Meteorological Center has issued a renewed yellow alert for rainstorms, forecasting heavy downpours in the southern regions of the country.

The alert covers the period from 2 p.m. on Friday to 2 p.m. on Saturday and warns of heavy rainfall in parts of Guangxi and Guangdong.

These areas may experience significant downpours, with maximum hourly precipitation exceeding 80 millimeters. Severe convective weather, including thunderstorms and gales, is expected.

Local governments have been advised to prepare for rainstorms, and traffic management authorities should implement appropriate measures on road sections affected by heavy rainfall.

The disconnection of outdoor power supplies at risk, suspension of outdoor activities in open areas, and the relocation of individuals from vulnerable areas to safer locations have also been suggested.

China utilizes a four-tier, color-coded weather warning system, with red indicating the most severe warning, followed by orange, yellow, and blue.
