China, Laos to Increase Trade Cooperation

VIENTIANE, Laos: Lao businessmen held talks with Chinese business operators in the Lao capital Vientiane, to discuss ways to strengthen their relations towards increasing trade and investment in the country.

The meeting was co-chaired by Lao President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Oudet Souvannavong, and Xu Ningning, executive director of the China-ASEAN Business Council and Chairman of RCEP Industry Cooperation Committee, Xinhua reported on Friday.

During the meeting, participants discussed areas of cooperation in investment, trade, imports and exports, as well as education projects in Laos.

Meeting to cement China-Laos ties

Souvannavong said the meeting strengthened business contacts between China and Laos which would expedite the development of agriculture and make the sector financially stronger.

He said there is multiple opportunities for further economic development between the two countries based on existing deals and regional protocols.
