ISLAMABAD: London-based Pakistani businessman Raja Muhammad Adil said on Sunday that there are immense opportunities to develop business ties between Pakistan and UK which should be exploited.

The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a reception in honor of Raja Muhammad Adil, in which he shared his struggle in the United Kingdom and achievements in the field of business.

He said that he went to London in 1963 and started his professional life there as a bus driver. However, later he began business life in a small shop and achieved considerable success in business.

Adil said that all these achievements were the result of hard work and struggle. In London, he has always assisted Pakistanis, and some of them have made a mark in business and politics.

In his message to the youth, the businessman said that today’s generation is trying for shortcuts to success, but success in any field needs struggle and hard work with integrity.

ICCI president Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari spoke on the occasion and appreciated Raja Muhammad Adil for achieving achievements in business.

He said that Raja Adil is an ambassador of Pakistan in the UK and has also been playing a notable role in the UK Pakistan Chamber of Commerce.

UK-based Pakistani Investors

He said that UK-based -Pakistani investors should focus on business and investment in Pakistan, which would increase Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in our country and give confidence to other foreign investors.

Talking about trade between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, he said that the bilateral trade between the two nations is less than five billion pounds which is not in line with the actual potential, so there is a need to intensify efforts to boost the bilateral trade volume to at least ten billion pounds per year.
