Brazil’s President Admits Intelligence Agencies Failed Ahead of Riots

BRASILIA:  Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva admitted on Wednesday his country’s intelligence services failed on January, 8 when the capital buildings were stormed by supporters of far-right ex-President Jair Bolsonaro.

In an exclusive interview with TV channel GloboNews, he said that they made a basic mistake, his intelligence did not exist (that day).

He told the TV that they have Army intelligence, Brazil’s Intelligence Agency, and Air Force intelligence but none of them warned him.

In January, 8 political activists and supporters of far-right ex-President Jair Bolsonaro attacked Brazil’s presidential palace, Supreme Court and Congress.
