ISLAMABAD: Faisal Karim Kundi, Minister of State for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, said on Friday that a survey would be launched very soon to register more deserving beneficiaries living below the poverty line, under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
During a meeting with a women’s delegation from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) led by Senator Rubina Khalid, the minister informed them about the BISP initiatives.
“BISP payment system fully digital”
Kundi said that the BISP payment system was digital and fully transparent. The minister said that nearly 8.8 million people had been registered in the Benazir Kafalat program and were receiving the quarterly payment of 7000 rupees. They can withdraw their payments from Habib Bank and Bank Al-Falah.
He said that all programmes including Benazir Education Stipends, Benazir Undergraduate Scholarships and Benazir Nashonuma are playing a very important role in the welfare of the people. –APP
