RAJSHAHI, Bangladesh: Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has accused the ousted Awami League government and opposition forces of attempting to destabilise the country through labour unrest, urging citizens to remain vigilant as his administration pursues economic recovery.

Addressing a public rally in Rajshahi, Rahman cited intelligence reports showing that supporters of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were financing disturbances at industrial facilities.

Rahman said his government was working to reopen closed factories, create employment opportunities and strengthen economic stability.

He announced that six industrial units had reopened over the past seven months, with approximately 46 more targeted for reopening during 2027.

Rahman said Bangladesh’s tradition of peaceful coexistence among different religious communities should continue for future generations.
