ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s cricket captain, Babar Azam, is near to achieving several significant milestones in T20I cricket as he gears up for upcoming matches against England.
With his stellar performance record, Babar is poised to etch his name in the annals of cricket history, further solidifying his stature as one of the finest batsmen in the format.
Foremost among these milestones is his imminent achievement of reaching 4000 runs in T20I cricket, requiring just 45 more runs to surpass the current top Pakistani run-scorer. This feat underscores his remarkable skill and unwavering consistency, as he presently ranks third among the highest run-scorers in T20I cricket, trailing only Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Moreover, with a mere 82 runs needed, Babar stands to surpass Virat Kohli’s total runs in T20Is, with the current standings showcasing Kohli at 4037 runs, Rohit Sharma at 3974 runs, and Babar Azam at 3955 runs.
Moreover, Babar is poised to become the sole captain to amass 2500 T20I runs, further solidifying his status as a top-tier player and an exemplary leader whose contributions consistently propel his team to success.
Notably, Babar recently etched his name in the record books during the T20I series against Ireland, clinching the title of the most successful T20I captain with 45 wins, surpassing Brian Masaba’s record of 44 wins as captain for Uganda.
As Babar continues to rewrite records and scale new heights, he cements his legacy as one of the greatest cricketers of all time.
Pakistan’s upcoming four-match T20I series against England is scheduled to commence on May 22nd at the Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds.
