ISLAMABAD: In fulfillment of the directions of Chief Justice Lahore High Court, the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has taken up the issue of the unavailability of biometric ATM cash withdrawals to the beneficiaries of BISP with HBL.
In pursuance of the directions, followed by the communication between BISP and HBL, it has been ensured that all 149 HBL ATMs in the Multan region are the biometric-enabled and properly operational 24-hour basis to provide the facility of cash withdrawal to BISP beneficiaries, stated in a press release on Tuesday
Advice for BISP beneficiaries
The Director General BISP Punjab, Arshad Liaqat Chaudhary has advised the BISP beneficiaries to receive their full amounts from HBL ATMs through biometric verification on time.
Furthermore, in case of any difficulties, they can also visit the nearest BISP office for complaint lodging and immediate redressal.
Action against malpractices in BISP funds
Meanwhile, a massive crackdown against the delinquent mafia, who are found involved in malpractices and illegal deductions from the BISP beneficiaries through ATMs and POS agents, has been taken, to protect and ensure transparent disbursement of BISP funds among beneficiaries.
As per recent reports from the BISP Punjab dashboard till date, the Punjab Region has blocked some 312 POS agents on account of established embezzlement complaints, while 30 FIRs have been lodged in the relevant police stations whereas a case has been referred to FIA Cyber Crime Circle Lahore, while 19 POS agents have been put behind bars.
The DG Punjab also added that an exclusive control room has been set up for BISP beneficiaries where their complaints and queries will be entertained on WhatsApp number Punjab 0325- 5365520 or BISP Zonal Office complaint cell number 061- 6214200.
