ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad Thursday issued bailable arrest warrants for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and other party leaders in three separate cases pertaining to vandalism outside the judicial complex Islamabad during Imran Khan’s court appearance.
The court also issued warrants against PTI leaders Shibli Faraz, Farrukh Habib and Hassan Niazi.
Judge Abul Hasnat heard the cases as Khan’s council appeared before the court. At the outset of the hearing, the lawyer filed an exemption plea, given his client’s necessary appearance in the Lahore High Court.
However, the Judge remarked that the PTI Chairman would be required to appear before the court further underscoring the importance of his presence in the ongoing proceedings.
The warrants were also issued for PTI leaders Hassan Niazi, Farrukh Habib and Shibli Faraz in connection with the judicial complex attack case.
The court ordered all the accused, including Imran Khan, to personally appear on July 19 to reply the charges leveled against them.
