LASTOURVILLE, Gabon: Archaeologists working in eastern Gabon’s rainforest share their passion and hopes as they attempt to unearth the story of human habitation in Central Africa dating back tens of thousands of years BC. “You have to play a puzzle game and gather the simplest, smallest clues and put them together to form a sort of beam and gradually rebuild an entire world that has disappeared and yet is at the origin of the lifestyle in Central Africa today,” says Geoffroy de Saulieu, archaeologist at the National Agency for National Parks of Gabon. – Lea Nkamleun Fosso/AFPTV/AFP.
