CAIRO: The Arab League Council convened an extraordinary session at the Permanent Delegates level in Egypt’s capital Cairo on Friday to discuss the ongoing deadly incursions by Israeli forces across the occupied West Bank.
The meeting, headed by Libya, was attended by the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, and Said Abu Ali, Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and the Occupied Arab Territories Affairs, and representatives of member countries.
Palestine requested to convene the session
The meeting was held on the request of the state of Palestine to discuss Arab and international efforts to address the Israeli aggression in the northern West Bank city of Nablus and other occupied territories.
Israeli forces killed 11 Palestinians, including an elderly and a child, and wounded over 100 others by live bullets during a deadly raid in Nablus on Thursday. Six of those injured were reported in critical to very critical condition.
