CAIRO: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, King Abdullah of Jordan, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met in Cairo on Tuesday to hold talks over the current developments related to the Palestinian cause, Arab media reported.
The Jordan News Agency reported that the three leaders stressed the need to end unilateral and all illegal actions of Israel that are hindering the pursuit of peace and the two-state solution.
Arab Leaders Summit
During the meeting, Abbas and El-Sisi reaffirmed the Hashemite custodianship of holy sites in Jerusalem, as well as Cairo’s key role in safeguarding the holy sites.
King Abdullah of Jordan and Abbas thanked the Egyptian President for his efforts to maintain stability in Gaza while also providing help in reconstructing the strip. The three leaders also highlighted the significance of maintaining world help to assist Palestine Refugees.

The summit reiterated the need to preserve the legitimate rights of Palestinians and continue efforts to attain a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, a statement said.
The three Presidents also agreed to continue to consult at every level within the Jordanian-Egyptian-Palestinian cooperation framework for starting efforts to restart talks, while also working with Arab leaders and stakeholders to start the peace process.
