DUBAI: Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum has appointed another of his son as a deputy ruler of emirate, Arab media reported on Saturday.
The new appointment was made after the death of his brother and deputy ruler Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 2021. The Dubai Media Office said that Dubai has first and second deputy rulers now.

The decree said that Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum has been appointed as the first deputy ruler of Dubai. He is also currently the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister for Finance Affairs.
According to the media reports, Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, another son of Sheikh Mohammed was also appointed as second deputy ruler, and is currently working as chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
