LAHORE: Dengue virus is still affecting the province and a new case is reported in Punjab on Friday.
According to the latest information from the Health Department, a total of 18 confirmed cases of Dengue have been documented across 36 districts in Punjab. Within the current year, Lahore reported 11 cases, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad each reported 2 cases, and Gujrat, Sargodha, and Vehari each reported 1 case. Additionally, two Dengue patients are currently receiving treatment in hospitals in Lahore.
Ali Jaan Khan, the Secretary of Health in Punjab, issued a heartfelt appeal to the public, urging them to ensure cleanliness and dry surroundings as a preventive measure against Dengue fever. He also called for citizens’ cooperation with the dedicated health department teams that are tirelessly working to combat this outbreak. —APP
